She told me to remove my ring!!!!! ”

Let’s get right into the topic, at the age of 15 I decided to honor God with my mind, body and soul. I made a vow to God that, I will not have sex until I get married. It’s been a struggle but God has got me through. It’s safe to say at the age of 24, I continue to honor God with that same vow. On behalf of my commitment to God, I received a purity ring (which is a band with diamonds on it). It’s also engraved with a scripture Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” It actually resembles a wedding band. I wear my purity ring on my left hand, the hand your wedding ring should go on. When God sends you your husband and when you become one which is written in Mark 10:8 “and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one,”. For now, I am single so I am aligning my mind and body with the word of Christ.
One thing about being a Christian is that everyone is not in the same level and understanding that you are in. And I defiantly get that so, I am always open to teach and also to receive. I recently became friends with this wonderful young lady and she is a Christian. However, she did notice my ring and I told her that it’s my purity ring. This young lady is 5 years older than me and she married with kids. When the woman noticed the ring on my finger , at first she thought I was married. However, I told her about my vow I made to God. Since she was a Christian you would have thought she would understand. No Linda, she told me to “take off my ring”. If I didn’t stand for anything and if I didn’t believe the meaning behind the vow. I would have probably taken it off. It actually became an argument; a bit more was said but I’m going to get down to the message.
Why would I take off a ring just because you have an opinion? What made this situation a little awkward was the fact that she was a Christian woman and not a child. You should be encouraging me to live a righteous life after Christ. It’s a verse in the bible that in Titus 2:4 “These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children.” As a Christian woman you should be encouraging me and preparing me for my future husband. The point of this blog is to encourage anyone, that living a life after Christ is not in vain. People are going to come and challenge you on what you believe and stand for, but hold on for the reason that your reward is coming.
Truth is, you don’t need a purity ring to confess that you are a virgin. I know so many wonderful women who are virgin, but doesn’t wear a purity ring. And yet they are strong Queens in the Lord. I wear my purity ring because it was given to me at a young age. Because of this long time period of wearing the ring, if I take it out I feel naked. I feel as if I am missing something. God is not a God who will judge you on your past mistakes here’s proof in Micah 7:9, “Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!”. See, it is written in the Bible that God doesn’t care about your past. God wants you to start a new beginning in Him! I’m ending with this quote, “If you don’t stand for something, You’ll fall for anything”.

” God will never leave you hanging”

As a believer, reading the Bible has made my faith steadfast. I believe, if God can do it for them what makes you think He can’t do it for you. There are two amazing women in the Bible that didn’t have a course of action for their lives, but God came through and made all their needs sufficient. These women were Ruth and Naomi. Some readers mainly remember the story for the relationship aspects in the Book of Ruth. Ruth is undoubtedly an amazing love story in the Bible but it also demonstrates God’s favor. Just by being obedient to someone, God saw her heart and He began to work on Ruth’s behalf. To summarize, in Chapter one it spoke on how Naomi’s two sons had died and the other daughter in law, Orpah, went back home to her people. However, Ruth decided to stay with Naomi despite her circumstance. Nevertheless, the God that we serve had a plan that was getting ready to set in motion. They decided to venture out to Bethlehem, Naomi’s hometown.
Naomi’s return to Bethlehem made everyone excited to see her. I believe, all that Naomi’s been through the brokenness and the heart break of losing her intermediate family, God was healing and strengthening her. In chapter 2 Naomi’s had a wealthy cousin name Boaz. Naomi tell Ruth to go and pick some wheat from the field of her wealthy cousin out of respect she did. If Ruth wasn’t being obedient to Naomi she would of mess up the plan that God was setting up. As Christian the best thing is for us to do is stay out for God way. God does not need our help. And the consequence of Ruth disobedient Naomi would of probably suffer. Then again, I believe, God is not the type who would let you suffer for someone else rebellion. God will work around someone else’s confusion in order to bless you. Let’s get back to the scripture, Ruth went into the fields of Naomi wealthy cousin Boaz. Boaz out of respect to the law allows Ruth to glean in the fields. Even when Naomi was going through, Naomi and Ruth never went hungry.
I honestly believe that, God had place in Naomi’s spirit a plan. For the reason that a plan without God help is worthless. In Chapter three, Naomi told Ruth to go and wash up and put on your best clothes and meet Boaz at his house, while he was getting ready for bed. Naomi said, I want you to go and lie down at his feet and he will tell you what to do. And out of obedience Ruth said” I will do everything”. As Ruth goes on and did everything chapter 3:8-18, Boaz awaken to find that lying at his feet was Ruth. Then Boaz said “The lord bless you, my daughter. This act of kindness is greater than the kindness you showed to Naomi’s in the begging”. God was blessing Naomi’s through Ruth “God will use someone else to bless you”. In chapter three in various parts of chapter four, Boaz wanted to be married to Ruth but it’s a doctrine according to the customs of that time, that if a relative dies, someone has to take that dead man’s name and carry his name. To make the story short Boaz got the land and married Ruth and had a son name Obed. What makes this story so great, you got to read about how God works in Naomi and Ruth’s life she had noting she lost everything but God bless her in a whole different way. This was done in a matter that you would never expect Him to use Ruth in. Ruth’s obedience showed how faithful she was to Naomi and her obedience made them both bless. I like this story in the Bible for the reason that, it’s not a fake tale this actually happen. God is telling you that, He will never fail you trust in Him and only Him and God will come through for you. Don’t worry about the chaos that are happening around because He is the living God who will get you through the storm.

I Got tired, So I gave Up!!!!

Have you ever felt like God wasn’t moving fast enough to your timing or God wasn’t listening to you? I went through a period in my life when I felt like I was doing all that I could do. I had it processed in my head that God wasn’t helping my situation, but Queens that’s how the chaos of life was making me feel. It felt as if everything was falling apart instead of everything coming together. College wasn’t working out for me I couldn’t focus in any of my classes. I just needed a break so I just gave up on everything. I didn’t want to live this Christian life anymore, I just wanted to be “normal”. I could remember a time of life when I was just M.A.E. My family always grew up in church but I was just a church goer. I didn’t have any responsibility in church, but to go to church and go home.
Growing up everyone always told me how talented I was and that I have many gifts (all the glory to God). The first time that I started to get involve in church I began as a praise dancer. At first, I didn’t understand the purpose of it besides the idea of wearing the nice garments. When I got older and took church a lot more serious, I had a better understanding. I became a worship leader it was amazing, but a battle at the same time. One thing I came to found out, is when you’re in a leadership position the devil will defiantly come and attack you and cause everyone to come against you. I honestly didn’t want to deal with anything or anyone anymore so I quit. I told my pastor I didn’t want to be a praise and worship leader anymore. He tried to talk me out of it and pray for me, but I was to stubborn and worried only about myself and my feelings.
One thing I learn about doing God’s work is that it’s never about you it’s about the lost souls that we encounter every day. But at that time I didn’t care I just wanted to be free, but I really wasn’t free. The devil put the idea in my head that if you stop doing this you can focus on yourself and no one will be mad at you. Which obviously was a lie, the devil was trying to kick me out and he wanted me to stop focusing on Christ. The devil didn’t want me to have a voice so he tried to shut me up. What made it worst Queens, I stop reading my bible so I couldn’t fight back. I was so empty and I didn’t have the strength to fight back. I felt useless. How can a person with a God given purpose just give up and throw in the towel? I don’t even know Queens, I just knew I needed God and I needed him badly. At that time, I attended a prophetic church. I got up that Sunday and got dressed for church. I couldn’t live like that no more. As I walk in I made it just in time for praise and worship and my Pastor wife was leading it. She started to sing that Israel Houghton song “To Worship You I Live” and I just began to weep. It was that heavy weeping. My makeup was messed up, but it was worth it. God is just so loving and graceful Queens no matter how many times you turn your back at him He’s standing there with open arms. Queens, I’m ending here saying no matter what you go through in life God is right there by your side. Remember that you are truly loved and never alone.
Love,
M.A.E

Purity Is A Lifestyle

This blog is basically about my journey as a 24-year-old Christian women living a life of purity without giving out the goodies, until God send me my king. Has it been easy of course not I had a season of my life when I felt like I needed a boyfriend for the reason that I was really lonely and everyone else had a boyfriend. Queens it gets very lonely sometimes especially when you never had a boyfriend. It also gets very challenging when you live in a world that is telling you that something is wrong with you. I laugh about this stigma for the reason that it’s the worlds timing and not God timing theirs a difference.

Queens there is nothing wrong with you; I just knew that God had greater for me. I knew I was worth so much than to be sleeping with any man that comes my way, and lord know there was some good looking one. When you know your worth you won’t settle for the world standard but for Kingdom Standard. I constantly tell people that, the only way this journey is going to get easy if you stay in the Bible. It’s sad to say that this generation that we live in today, sex is so easy to get. Truth is, sex is even popping up on your television screen and the music that we hear. You want hear something funny Queens, I use to love my little R&B music. I use to listen to those love songs in other words those baby making music. I don’t even know who my single self was making a baby with. Besides that, the music I was listening to was increasing my fleshly desire causing lust to rise up. Can I be honest; it was really bad to the point that my mind was very lustful. I couldn’t listen to that music anymore. That’s why it’s very important as Christian for us to purify or mind daily with word of God. What’s on your mind Queens?

Walking into this purity journey I had to, really give up something in order to live a life that was pleasing to God. When I look back at my life if I didn’t give up these certain thing, I probably wouldn’t be doing a purity blog. When you know better you began to do better in life. The minute you start to read the bible you feel like Gods graceful words has this powerful authority and protection over your life. It’s like the word of god is helping you to fight against the evil temptation of the world, it’s like Queens you’re putting the whole armor of God on to stand firm against the evil desire and temptation of the world. I wrote down some very helpful scripture in bottom, I encourage you to read them.

“6 Steps to Living a life of purity”

1. God should be number one in your life, He should be the first person you talk to in the morning. When you put God as your first priority in life everything will begin to align up.

Bible Verse:
Luke 4:8
Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'”

2. Being careful of what you watch on television.
Bible Verse:
Luke 11:34-36
“Our minds dwell on the things that occupy our time”

Being a single woman it gets lonely and hard. And sometimes when we get lonely we run to T.V and began to put on a romantic film. And for a moment it gets comfortable and that movie begins to fill that void of loneliness for a second. But later on at night, it starts to pop up again in your mind. Now your flesh is rising up and spirit is going down because you haven’t fed it with the word. And you’re looking for some company. (pick up your phone) Who can I text (Hey stranger) Now you’re looking for a “cuddle buddy” or a “Netflix and chill buddy”.

3. The Music your listen to
Bible verse:
Colossians 3:2
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things”

The devil was a part of the worship in heaven “however, his pride got to him”. What I’m trying to explain is why, when you’re sad you play a sad song and when you’re mad you listen to an angry song, and when you’re in love you play a love song and etc. Back then you just had the music and not including the music videos. Now, kids, these days are now attracted to what they see on T.V “I want the money drugs and the girls.” I believe the devil is the master of the airwave. He knows how to get to your emotion, you’re so caught up in your emotion that you lose focus on God. What are you listening to???

4.Your Friends (keeping good and positive company)
Bible Verse:
1 Corinthians 15:33
“Do Not be misled, Bad company corrupts good character”

Your friends are the example of what you believe and represent. Can I just say that this is a true fact? The people that are a part of your circle plays a big role in life. When I was in High School I had a friend, she was a horrible example I realize everything she says, I would start saying it. It got to the point where people started to say I look like her. People I didn’t know started to think I was rude like her.

5. Your Prayer Life
Bible Verse:

Keep watch and pray so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” Matthew 26:41

It’s impossible for God to purify our minds if we or not hanging out with Him on a regular basis. I can testify to this!!!
How can you fight against temptation, sexual desire, and an unstable mind if you’re just filling it with the world and not the word of God, You can’t fight fire with fire!!!
6. “Being confident (especially in what you stand for)
Bible Verse:

Jeremiah 17:7
“But Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”
You can’t stand for anything if you’re not confident in it. How are you going to tell me about Jesus if you’re not sure about him yourself? How can you preach about purity if you’re not confident enough about living an honorable life for Christ? Be bold in Christ Queens!!!!

Patiently Waiting

When you hear the word purity the first thing that automatically come to people’s mind is sex. I am here to tell you that purity is not all about sex, purity is about the body, mind and spirit align into one honoring God and his word.
1 Corinthians 6:19 says that “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;”.
Your body was not made for the world but for the glory of God. My beautiful Queens, you just can’t have anyone entering you when they please, especially when your flesh is overpowering your spirit (Can I Be Real)

God is dwelling inside of you right now he also gave you a  helper who is the Holy Spirit.
John 14:16-17
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you”
Queens I know it can be hard sometimes, like God, when is my time is coming? When I’m I going to meet my king? I’ve been praying fasting seeking you. I been duck, duck, goosing these clowns lol and I am still single.

Ask yourself this, If God came right now will you still be OK single… I know it gets hard but it will be all worth it in the end.
Love,
M.A.E
